COURSE OVERVIEW
Take control of your own development and workplace performance.
In the constant search to become a better, more technically competent engineer; it’s easy to forget one of the things that make an engineer stand out: having the skills to deal with people effectively.
These skills are important throughout an engineer’s career, particularly as you take on more responsibilities and develop professional relationships at more senior levels in both your own organisation and others, such as customers and suppliers.
Our leading self programmes focus on these skills, enabling engineers to develop by first understanding your current ‘natural’ style, then exploring and developing other ways of approaching these tasks when appropriate.
By being able to display professional development in leadership, an engineer will have taken the first step towards leading individuals, teams and a business effectively and successfully.

Explore the ethical challenges that engineers face every day.
About the programme:
Engineers create products and processes that we interface with at almost every moment of our lives. However, most technology has double implications: whilst designed to make life better it can also be misused to disadvantage or may have negative unintended consequences.
This programme aims to explore the four fundamental principles that guide an engineer in achieving the high ideals of professional life: accuracy and rigour; honesty and integrity; respect for life, law and the public good; and responsible leadership. By increasing your ability to reason clearly and carefully, you will be more capable of making sound ethical decisions.
This one-day course has been designed to explore the ethical issues engineers face every day, perhaps without recognising them. The delivery style relies on extensive use of case studies and discussion of engineering scenarios, to be easily applicable and relevant to your workplace.
